Privacy Policy
Updated 11 August 2026
1. Who We Are
Sensory Logix (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2006/030518/07 (“Sensory Logix”, “we”, “us” or “our”), operates the Sensory Logix Online Store at shop.sensorylogix.com.
Sensory Logix is a South African company and the responsible party for personal information processed through the Online Store, except where another party, such as Shopify or a payment service provider, acts as a separate responsible party for specific processing activities.
Our Online Store is powered by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform and related services that enable us to operate the store.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect personal information when you access or use our Online Store and related services (“Services”).
Our processing of personal information is governed by South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).
If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy regarding the collection, use or disclosure of personal information, this Privacy Policy will apply.
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
2. Business Partner and Reseller Accounts
The Sensory Logix Online Store is primarily intended for approved Sensory Logix Business Partners and resellers.
Where you are already registered with Sensory Logix as a Business Partner or reseller, your Online Store account may be created or preloaded using information that you previously provided to Sensory Logix as part of that business relationship.
This may include:
- Business or trading name;
- Business Partner or reseller account details;
- Name and surname of the relevant contact person;
- Email address;
- Telephone or mobile number;
- Billing address; and
- Delivery address.
We use this existing information to facilitate your Online Store account and allow you to transact with Sensory Logix as part of your existing Business Partner or reseller relationship.
You may be required to confirm or update information such as your delivery address, billing address or contact details where these have changed or is not available at time of placing the order.
Mandatory information
Certain information is necessary for us to maintain your Business Partner account, process an order, communicate with you and deliver products. This includes appropriate identification of the Business Partner account, contact information, billing information and a valid delivery address.
If required information is missing or incorrect, we may be unable to process, fulfil or deliver an order until the information has been corrected.
We do not require you to provide additional personal information that is unrelated to your Business Partner relationship or the processing and fulfilment of your orders.
Information relating to marketing preferences is optional. Registration or approval as a Sensory Logix Business Partner or reseller does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive electronic direct marketing.
Please note that when you use the Online Store, certain technical information is also processed automatically by Shopify and other technologies necessary to operate the website, as explained below.
3. Personal Information We Collect or Process
“Personal information” means information relating to an identifiable person and includes information relating to a juristic person where applicable under POPIA.
Depending on how you interact with our Services, we may process:
- Contact information — name, business name, billing address, delivery address, telephone number and email address.
- Business Partner information — reseller or Business Partner account status and information associated with your existing Sensory Logix account.
- Account information — account identifiers, login or authentication information, preferences and account settings.
- Transaction information — products viewed or ordered, quantities, prices, order history, returns, credits, cancellations and other transaction details.
- Payment information — payment method, amount, transaction reference, payment date and payment confirmation information.
- Communications — information contained in emails, enquiries, support requests or other communications with us.
- Device information — information such as browser type, device type, network information, IP address and other technical identifiers.
- Usage information — information about how and when you access, browse or interact with the Online Store.
4. Payment Information
At present, orders placed through the Online Store are paid primarily by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
Sensory Logix provides its banking details to customers for the purpose of making payment. We do not require customers to provide their online banking credentials or payment-card credentials to Sensory Logix.
For EFT payments, we may process information necessary to identify and allocate the payment, such as:
- Payer or Business Partner name;
- Payment amount;
- Payment date;
- Payment reference; and
- Proof or confirmation of payment.
We do not intentionally retain customers’ bank account credentials, online banking login information, complete payment-card numbers, CVV numbers or similar financial security information.
We may in future introduce an online payment service such as Ozow or another payment gateway.
Where an external payment service provider is used, financial information required to authorise the payment may be collected and processed directly by that payment service provider according to its own privacy and security practices.
Sensory Logix would generally receive only information necessary to confirm and reconcile the transaction, such as payment status, amount, transaction reference and limited payment information, rather than customers’ complete banking or payment-card credentials.
The applicable payment provider’s privacy policy will apply to information processed directly by that provider.
5. Special Personal Information
We do not intentionally request or collect special personal information through the Online Store.
Special personal information under POPIA includes information relating to matters such as race or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, political persuasion, trade union membership, health or sex life, biometric information and certain criminal behaviour.
Given the nature of some of the products supplied by Sensory Logix, a particular purchase could potentially relate to accessibility or disability requirements. We do not use Online Store purchase information to make health or disability profiles or inferences about individual customers.
If it becomes necessary for us to process special personal information for a specific purpose, we will only process that information where the processing is specifically authorised under the applicable provisions of POPIA, including sections 27 to 33, and subject to any additional safeguards or requirements that apply.
6. Where We Obtain Personal Information
We may obtain personal information:
- From our existing records — where you have previously registered or been approved as a Sensory Logix Business Partner or reseller.
- Directly from you — when you update your account information, place an order, communicate with us or otherwise provide information to us.
- Automatically — when you access or use the Online Store, including through cookies and similar technologies.
- From Shopify and other operators — where they process information in providing services to us.
- From service providers and partners — for example couriers, payment providers or other parties involved in processing an order or providing our Services.
7. How We Use Personal Information
We process personal information only where permitted under POPIA and for legitimate and defined purposes.
Depending on the circumstances, processing may be necessary to perform our contract or business relationship with you, comply with a legal obligation, protect legitimate interests, or may take place with your consent.
We may use personal information to:
Provide and operate the Online Store
This includes:
- Creating and maintaining Business Partner accounts;
- Processing orders;
- Confirming availability and pricing;
- Arranging delivery;
- Processing payments and allocating EFT payments;
- Processing returns, credits, exchanges or cancellations;
- Maintaining transaction records;
- Providing account-related communications; and
- Providing customer support.
Maintain accurate Business Partner records
We may use information submitted through the Online Store to update or correct contact, billing or delivery information held in our existing Business Partner records.
Security and fraud prevention
We may process information to:
- Protect Online Store accounts;
- Authenticate users;
- Secure transactions;
- Detect or investigate fraudulent or unauthorised activity; and
- Protect Sensory Logix, our customers and our systems.
Communicate with you
We may contact you regarding orders, account information, product availability, deliveries, payments, support requests or other matters relating to our existing business relationship.
Comply with legal obligations
We may process information where necessary to comply with South African law, accounting and tax requirements, respond to lawful requests from authorities, enforce our agreements or establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
8. Direct Marketing
Where required by POPIA, we will obtain your consent before sending direct marketing by electronic communication, including email, SMS or WhatsApp.
Where you are an existing customer, we may communicate with you regarding our own similar products or services where the requirements of POPIA permit us to do so.
You may object to or opt out of direct marketing at any time.
Marketing emails will contain an unsubscribe option where applicable. You may also contact us directly at online@sensorylogix.com.
Opting out of marketing does not prevent us from sending transactional or service-related communications concerning your Business Partner account, orders, payments or deliveries.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Sensory Logix Online Store at shop.sensorylogix.com uses cookies and similar technologies.
Cookies are small data files stored on or associated with your browser or device. Shopify, Sensory Logix and authorised service providers or applications may use these technologies to:
- Operate and secure the Online Store;
- Maintain login sessions;
- Remember preferences;
- Maintain shopping-cart functionality;
- Understand how visitors use the Online Store;
- Measure website and application performance;
- Improve the Online Store and user experience;
- Support analytics;
- Prevent fraud; and
- Where permitted, support marketing, personalisation and relevant advertising.
Some cookies and technologies are necessary for the Online Store to function correctly. Other cookies may be used for analytics, personalisation or marketing.
You can control certain cookies through your browser settings and, where applicable, through privacy or cookie preference controls presented on the Online Store.
Blocking necessary cookies may prevent certain features of the Online Store from functioning correctly.
10. Shopify and Shopify Network Intelligence
Our Online Store is hosted by Shopify.
Shopify processes personal information concerning your access to and use of our Online Store in order to provide its e-commerce platform and related services to Sensory Logix.
We currently have Shopify Network Intelligence enabled.
When Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled, Shopify may securely use information concerning customers' interactions with our store together with information from interactions with Shopify and other Shopify merchants to provide Enhanced Services.
These Enhanced Services may assist Shopify and Sensory Logix with matters such as:
- Improving and personalising the customer experience;
- Improving store and platform performance;
- Understanding customer interaction with stores and advertising;
- Fraud prevention and security; and
- Providing more relevant advertising and marketing services where applicable.
Information may therefore be shared with and processed by Shopify and its service providers, including service providers located outside South Africa.
Other Shopify merchants are not given direct access to Sensory Logix customer information through Shopify Network Intelligence.
Where applicable privacy controls or consent choices are available, Shopify may take those choices into account when processing information through Shopify Network Intelligence.
For further information about how Shopify processes customer information, please refer to the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.
Customers may also use the Shopify Privacy Portal for privacy controls made available directly by Shopify.

12. Third-Party Applications, Websites and Links
Our Online Store may use Shopify applications, integrations or services provided by third parties.
It may also contain links to websites or services that we do not operate.
Third parties may have their own privacy policies and terms governing their processing of personal information. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of independent third-party websites or services that we do not control.
You should review the applicable privacy policy before providing information directly to a third party.
13. International Transfers
Sensory Logix is based in South Africa, but Shopify and some of our service providers may process personal information in other countries.
Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer complies with section 72 of POPIA.
This may include ensuring that the recipient is subject to a law, binding agreement or binding corporate rules providing an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA, obtaining appropriate consent where applicable, or relying on another transfer mechanism permitted by POPIA.
14. Children’s Personal Information
The Sensory Logix Online Store is intended for Business Partners and resellers and is not intended for use by children.
Under POPIA, a child is a natural person under the age of 18 who is not legally competent, without the assistance of a competent person, to take an action or decision regarding their personal information.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the Online Store.
Where processing the personal information of a child becomes necessary, we will only do so where the processing is authorised in accordance with POPIA, including obtaining the consent of a competent person where required.

When personal information is no longer required and we have no lawful reason to retain it, it will be deleted, destroyed or de-identified as appropriate.
